Overview

The best-known mercenary spyware firm. Its zero-click Pegasus tool extracts messages, calls, photos, location and microphone/camera access from iOS and Android phones, and has been repeatedly found on the devices of journalists, activists and politicians worldwide. Added to the U.S. Commerce Entity List in November 2021; a U.S. court found NSO liable in the WhatsApp case in December 2024, with a 2025 jury award later reduced and a permanent injunction barring it from WhatsApp.
